Yes, I did resolve it. The problem happens when Virtual Router isn't closed properly (ie when your connection disconnects or your computer locks up and needs to be restarted). The shared internet connection still has a lock on the share Virtual Router created, and so it can't create a new one.

Go into your Network and Sharing center

Then go to change adapter settings. Select the Internet adapter whose Internet connection you share with other devices (ie if you connect to the Internet using 3G, select that 3G. If you connect to the Internet using wireless, select that wireless). Make sure to select the connection Virtual Router was last using.

Go to Internet Sharing. Break the lock on the old share by setting the adapter to share its connection with something else (whatever you have handy; network adapter, wireless, anything). You'll get a warning about the old share still being in effect. Break the old share, click OK until the settings for your adapter closes.

Open up your adapter's settings again, and remove the shared connection you just created. Keep clicking OK to close the adapter's settings.

Start up Virtual router again, and enjoy.

This isn't a problem specific to VR, any similar app you try won't be able to create a share until you break the old one that VR had.

When I try to share the ethernet connection VirtualRouter returns this exception : "HRESULT: 0x8004100E".
Everything works fine if I don't share anything....can you help me?Thanks a lot.
Ps. I already try to run the application with the admin rights.

I am having the same problem too.
Its always Limited Connectivity, in host laptop, the internet is working fine.
I restarted Laptop, restarted Wifi, restarted phone - Nothing seems to work.

Please help.

i have tried all the above steps but virtual router is not letting me to share internet

virtual router is connected and the status is success and i have also tried through cmd prompt then also it is not letting to share internet

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE?

I THINK .NET FRAMEWORK INSTALLED MAY CAUSE THIS PROBLEM ... can anyone please suggest me hot to share internet.......

I am also getting this error.

When I connect to Wireless Network Connection and share over Wireless Network Connection2 (virtual one) it works fine.
When I connect to Wireless 3g modem and share over Wireless Network Connection2 (virtual one) it shows the error.

Some one please help.

Hello!
Before I install this software, I have a quick question: Can I change the radio type with this software?
I have the hostednetwork set up on my windows 7 machine, but it is broadcasting in N mode. Can I change it to broadcast in B or G?

If it is not possible with this software, would anyone know if it possible at all?

Hi there, I found a solution to that: Turn off your firewall or change your firewall settings, it will work.

Everything is running, both devices that I have tried to connect say that they are receiving a full signal (Windows 7 HP Laptop, HTC EVO 4g LTE Cell phone).

The issue comes where both devices can not actually connect to the internet. I went to the other laptop (HP) to try and troubleshoot but to no avail. I am using an ASUS Laptop that is running "Virtual Router".

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Hello, I ran into the same problem and I have found a fix myself: The Firewall on your computer is blocking access. Deactivate it or chnge the settings and It will work fine.

That's not the point.
Connection is there, but the Android-device (but also another notebook) doesn't get an IP-adress:
Android says: ... getting IP-adress and VirtRout shows: Hostname / IP-adress could not be found

Any working solution?

When trying to start the VirtualRouter I get the messsage in the attachment below

"Operation blocked waiting for an oplock (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800702FD)

Rebooting system , stoping and restarting servivce , nothing resolves the issue. The router did work fine and has just started this behaviour.

If i want to do process manually its takes time (saves time).
If person don't have WiFi modem they can share with this(saves money) .

Hi,

I'm running Virtual Router on a 32-bit Windows 7 SP1 PC sharing my ethernet over wifi.

I am trying to connect using a Macbook Pro 13-inch late 2010 model...

I keep on getting the error "A connection timeout occurred"

Other PCs can but my Mac can't, why is this happening?

I have the same problem, but my Mac gives the "wrong password" message. And on Mac I cant enter letters in the password - only digits. I thing there is a problem in password interpretation.

it's wasnt working out of the box, i was forced to put the wifi card in hostednetwork mode before being able to the software :
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow
(else i was getting the "group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation" error, same behavior on 2 win7 systems)

why is it not automated in the software ?

anyway it's a really useful tool :)

Gave me the resources error message until I rebooted, then stopped working when I tried to change the SSID name. I uninstalled it and made one more attempt at using Microsoft's Virtual Miniport Adapter setup where you go into Command and type in the "netsh wlan....etc" lines which still did not work. Installed it again and now it works perfectly even after changing the SSID name.

So it's a little finicky but it does work.

Need proxy support for Virtual Router, as I'm working under proxy at office. When I connect through data stick at home, everything works fine, but at office I've no luck.

Please, please add this feature...
