Windows 8 not supported

Even in compatibilty mode it won't start, comand line gives shows

 

ERROR: Virtual Router could not be started. Supported hardware may not have been
found.

 

I'm not sure how the software is checking this... I can take a look at the source later, but my guess is that in Windows 8, its looking for an adapter that does not exist.

 (This is the Windows 8 Virtual Adapter used for the hostednetwork)


If I remember well on Windows 7 the name was different maybe even the driver it self...

 

I can start the hostednetwork with netsh!

I got the same issue and now I can't even get netsh to work anymore (which it did before).

Conclusion: Do NOT install this on windows 8!

The latest release (v1.0) now supports Windows 8.

Every time I resume my suspendend Windows 8 box, Virtual Router crashes
